European Capital of Culture and Japan
The first edition of the Forum 2019 has Japan as its guest. At first glance it is strange that such a distant country has interest and participates in the implementation of Plovdiv as European Capital of Culture, but the meeting will present examples of actual joint projects between cultural operators and artists from cities that were ECC and were supported by the Japanese NGO in EU Japan Fest.
The forum will focus once again on the feasibility of the project initiatives of Bulgarian cultural operators and artists. This is the third meeting that focuses on Japan, which aims to provide the most detailed information on job opportunities and partnerships outside the EU within the context of the European Capital of Culture. EU Japan Fest has existed since 1992 with the aim of cooperation between Japanese and European artists. The organization has a vast and proven experience in the promotion of Japanese art in Europe and the interaction network of the European Capitals of Culture.
Ms. Yuko Hasegawa, Ms. Takako Saeko and Ms. Kaori Takei will make a presentation and will answer questions on 24 January in the small conference hall of the House of Culture „Boris Hristov“.
